Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin said "The way we react to adversity can be a major factor in how happy and successful we can be in life." In a talk that he gave at our LDS conference He told us that the Lord in His wisdom does not shield anyone from grief or sadness.
My friend Lisa and I were talking about this the other day. It seems as though everyone is struggling a bit more these days. Mostly finacially. We have been told that if we prepare we will not be fearful of things to come. This means preparing in many ways. Save money where you can, pray faithfully, pay a full tithing and prepare your families for hard times. We all are facing some kind of adversity but if you look around at someone elses stugggles you are always thankful that you have your own set of problems and not others..

Lis,
Had a great conversation in RS about the "in his wisdom" part of that statement. Several of the ladies shared stories of their trial and why they are better today because they had them. It was a great conversation. I love you.
We've been very very blessed. It'a a good life. Easy or not -it's good.
